I don't think that the haasmanne ever new what was going on up there, young boys still could be children fighting for their country, well let me tell you men and ladies, I was proud of my country and still am, but let me assure you all it left some damages in our young minds and we still carry it with us even after all these years. It was a great moment in my life and gave me reason to live. I was a ratel driver for 61 Meg Bn and drove in the 0-pakkie group. October 1987-1988. I was in the front line, and glad that I'm still alive today.

Message: I was in Swaspes 82 - 83 and stationed at Okatopi, Eenhana, Mahnene, Rundu and various other base camps. Are there any spoorsnyers who qualified in 82. Sergeant Dave Ward was one of my instructors, but was sadly taken out in an operation in 83. What a fantastic bloke. Anyway lekker bly to all the other troepies and slangvelle contacting this site. Vasbyt!!

Remember Lt Hechter (Smurfy) small but tough as nails, Cpl's Rassie and Skrik Viljoen. Then went to 5SAI and finally camps with SA Irish. Best guys I ever met in my time serving and would gladly do it all again with the same guys.

Lekker om te lees van ander ouens se wedervaringe. Goed om te sien daar is van die jong outjies wat ook belangstel en ondersteun. Help met die verwerking van "issues" om te lees wat ander deurgemaak het en nogs steeds deurmaak. Weet van ouens wat nog lelike letsel dra. Geestelik en liggaamlik.
